Formation of a French company
Four steps have to be followed. First, you choose your French address, then you write your “articles of association”, next you open a bank account and finally you register with the Legal French departments. When all the steps have been hold correctly, you will recover your French incorporation number.
1- Register on line and choose "legal entity"
To get the registered French address, you have to get a contract called “contrat de domiciliation”.
French Office is proposing this contract. To get it, please select an option during the sign up process.
This will generate the adequate contract for the company formation and the list of documents required to provide you with a registered and legal address in France. Mandatory documents are :
- Proof of residency in your country.
- Copy of your ID prooves.
- Power of attorney.
Once we have received the correct and required documents, we will sign the specific contract and it will be useful for the next step of your company’s incorporation.
2- Write your articles of incorporation
An agent from French Office will help you select the appropriate set up for your business , be it artisan, profession libérale (sole proprietor), SCI, SAS or SARL.
Then to finalize the articles of incorporation, we really advise that you work with our attorney.
This memorandum (called “statuts” in French) is describing your business activity, listing the several legal representatives, indicating the proprietors of the capital shares and specifying the way you are going to work.
They have to be written in French. They usually represent between 25 to 50 pages.
Your choice about social and tax options are also important during this first steps of the incorporation.
3- Open a French bank account
You will have to find a French bank.
We have a partnership with a bank that can supply an account and an IBAN.
You can also choose your preferred bank.
4- French Office agent to help you with company formation
